Clyde W. Wynes
Clyde W. Wynes, 91, of Canton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 21st, 2013 in Aultman Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Clyde was born in Talcott, WV on September 25th, 1921, the son of the late Edward and Clara Wynes.
Employed as a Supervisor at the Republic Steel Co. in Massillon and after his retirement his love for golf led him to become the Grounds Keeper at Spring Valley Golf Course. Member and Deacon of St. Mark's Baptist Church of Canton and served in the Army during WWII. Along with his love for golf he was also an avid bowler.
Survived by his loving wife Helen (Webb) Wynes to whom he married September 1990; three daughters Gonzella (Robert) Merriweather of Massillon, Deloris Kidd of Beckley, WV, Wanda Martin of Columbus; a son Walter Wynes of Canton; two sisters Catherine Stevens of Beckley, WV, Margaret Gray of Mt. Hope, WV; two brothers Lawrence Wynes, Sylvester Wynes of both of Talcott, WV.; four grandchildren, Stephen Kidd of Beckley, WV, Charles Martin and Kevin Hairston both of Columbus, David (Latoya) Kidd of Buford, GA; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; his special friends Norman Kidd of Beckley WV and Greg McIntyre of Canton.
Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, February 26th in St. Mark's Baptist Church, 1400 3rd St NE in Canton with Rev. Charles Kelly officiating. Friends may call also on Tuesday at St. Mark's from 10:00 am til time of service.
Burial in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery of Rittman.
