Willa Kay "Mom" Kent, age 81, passed away peacefully December 25, 2023 due to a long illness. She was born July 27th, 1942 to William and Edna Luke and was a life-long resident of Canton, Ohio. In 1962, Willa Kay married her husband Perry L. Kent (who preceded her in death in 2014) and a year later began welcoming the first of their 7 children. Willa Kay never knew a stranger. Her door was open to anyone who needed a warm place to stay, a delicious meal to eat, or just a great cup of coffee and a chin-wag at her kitchen table. She loved to find something to get up to-and that she did! The stories of her misadventures are forever going to be told with laughter and warm hearts by those who loved her so deeply. A great Eucre player, happy traveler and self appointed "foodie", Willa Kay brought joy to everyone around her. There is no doubt she will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Willa Kay retired from Canton City Schools after a long career as a bus driver. She was a caring source of advice and inspiration to her students as well as a great friend to those who worked with her. Willa Kay was also a long standing member of the North Canton Fraternal Order of Eagles. Willa Kay is survived by her children; Perry W. "Kippy" Kent (Lisa Kent), Rhonda L. McDermott (Ian McDermott), Kristina K. Kent (preceded in death 2022), Michael J. Kent, Sherri J. Davie, Deana R. Kent (preceded in death 1971), and their youngest Stacie C. Kent who became "Thelma" to Mom's "Louise" these last years of her life. This wonderful woman had 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren all of whom adored her. In addition, she leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many cousins. She was loved and treasured by so many who called her "Mom". She will be deeply missed.
Services will be announced and held at a future date.
