Violet City Dalton, 100, of Canton, passed away Wednesday, March 30th, at Aultman Hospital. Born in Philippi, West Virginia on March 11, 1922, a daughter of the late Granville and Mary Norris, also preceded in death by loving husband Leonard Dalton; 3 sons Franklin, Hayward and Woodrow Dalton; 4 sisters Betty Miller, Vannie Kennedy, Edith Ward, Armintha Mayle and 4 brothers Irvin, Virgil, Leon and Sam Norris. She was a member of the Apostolic Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ Church of Canton. Survived by 3 daughters Frances Jean Heard, of Houston, Texas, Faye Dalton, of the home, Patricia Bennett, of Morgantown, West Virginia; 2 sons Fawnsworth Dalton and Roger Dalton both of Canton as well as 45 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 6th in the Apostolic Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ Church. Friends and family may call 2 hours prior also in the church. Burial will take place at noon on Friday, April 8th at Knottsville Cemetery in Grafton, West Virginia.
