Joseph P. Kopache, 90, of Canton, passed away Friday, December 25th, peacefully in his home. Born in Canton on January 3, 1930, a son of the late Joseph and Jennie Kopache, also preceded in death by his wife Teresa A. Kopache and daughter Jennie Kratzer. A graduate of McKinley High School, he was employed for many years at Republic Steel of Canton. Served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict with the 24th Engineers Battalion. He was a member of the former St. Paul's Catholic Church, the former Croation Club, and a current member of the VFW Post 3747. Joseph was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, fishing and camping. Survived by daughter Renee Kopache, of Cincinnati; 4 sons Jospeh Kopache Jr, of Canton, James (Cindy) Kopache, of East Canton, Steven (Jean) Kopache, Richard Kopache, all of Canton; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great- grandchildren. Private services will be held for the family. Burial will take place in Evergreen memorial Gardens.
