James V. Simon, age 79, of Massillon passed away on September 7, 2022 with his loving wife of 18 years, Judi, by his side. Jim was born on August 22, 1943 in Massillon to the late Ralph and Mary Simon. Jim served in the Navy on the US Forrestal after graduation from Canton Central Catholic High School in 1961. Jim and his family owned and operated several taverns in Massillon before he retired from the Army Navy Club #207. In the early years of retirement, Jim enjoyed traveling especially to Costa Rica. During the later years he found joy on his houseboat Simon Sez at Atwood Lake and by refinishing furniture. He took pride in transforming old pieces of furniture into treasure.

A special thank you to Jim's Crossroads Hospice team and Bethany Nursing Home. Respecting Jim's wishes there will be a private service with interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
