Francis "Sonny" Izo

Francis Michael "Sonny" Izo, 85, of North Canton, passed away peacefully in his home with his wife present, Sunday, August 29th, after a brief battle with ALS . Born in Barberton on March 9, 1936, a son of the late George and Sadie (Kluka) Izo, also preceded in death by 1st wife Patsy; infant daughter Michelle; brother Bernard and sister Marlene. Sonny was blessed with great skills and talent in the tool and die industry and an expert in plastic profile extrusion, successfully employed until retirement at age 79. Owner of Sonny's Brown Derby in Barberton, with many happy times. Sonny loved his work, golf, solving intricate puzzles, woodworking and watching all sports, but above all his family. All who knew Sonny saw him as a kind, gentle and nonjudgmental man, pleasant to be around. He was loved by many, especially the entire family. Survived by loving wife Marilyn Jean (Miklos) Carrell-Izo; 3 daughters Frances Coast, of Green, Kimberly Jordan, of Cuyahoga Falls, Melissa Takach, of Chapin, South Carolina; 2 sons George Izo, of Akron, Jeffrey (Eileen) Izo, of Barberton; 2 brothers George Izo, of Alexandria, Virginia, Stephen Izo, of Baypoint, California; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well as 5 stepchildren Kathleen (Frank) Prasnal, James (Darlene) Carrell, Dave (Caroline) Carrell, Karen (Steve) Frascello and Thomas (Stephanie) Carrell.
