Catherine Nardecchia (Morelli), age 80, peacefully passed away Tuesday, May 11 embraced by her children. She now joins those who preceded her in death: husband, Guido; son, Anthony; parents Francesco and Raphael; and siblings Frank, Rosaria, Paul and Orsola. She is survived by her children, David (Margaret) and Christine, two grandchildren, Maria (Kyle) and Isabella, two great grandchildren, Skylar and Cade, brother-in-law Richard (Jan), daughter-in-law Tina, sister-in-law Elspeth Brown, step grandson Shawn and great granddaughter Ryleigh, as well as a loving community of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and neighbors. A retired cosmetologist, she was known for producing cover page worthy up-dos, and loved to proclaim that her not-so-secret secret ingredient in her incredible lasagna was a dash of cinnamon. Her joy, sassiness, love and zest for life were authentic and never ceasing, and those who knew and loved her will carry this in their hearts forevermore, as well as her insatiable appetite for ice cream, companionship, music and conversation. Her faith and charm never wavered, nor will our love for her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 18th at 11:00 AM in the Little Flower Catholic Church, 2040 Diamond Rd NE, Canton, with Very Rev. Fr. Canon Christopher Henyk as celebrant. Friends and family may call 1 hour prior, also in the church. Burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery. Her family wishes to extend their gratitude for the exceptional and specialized care from Allay Senior Care of Meyers Lake and those from Crossroads Hospice who tended to her in her final days. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Sancta Clara Monastery in Canton, at www.poorclares.org.
