Carl Lee Day, 66, of Canton, passed away Monday, December 5th, at his home. Born in Canton, on July 7, 1956, a son of the late Robert Lee and Ruth Ann (Sprankle) Day, also preceded in death by 2 infant sisters Marsha Jean and Robin Lynn. A United States Army Veteran, Carl was a self described rose between two thorns with a wicked sense of humor. No one that met him stayed a stranger long, because he made friends everywhere he went. An avid sports fan, he especially loved the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tennessee Volunteers. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family whom he was very proud of. Survived by 2 daughters Rachel (Bobby) Schmitt, of Apple Creek ,Caitlin Schmidt, of Canton; 2 sisters Debie Ann (Jeff) Sterling, Jean (James) Glennon, all of Canton; 2 grandchildren Sawyer, Sloane; many other family members and friends; as well as his beloved canine companion Jonsey. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, December 9th in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home with Pastor Andy McClung officiating. Friends and family may call 2 hours prior.
