Nicholas Edward Hoaja, 41, of Centerville, passed away Friday, September 13th, at Concord Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire. Born in Canton, on November 26, 1977, a son of Richard and Darlene (Landshof) Hoaja. Besides his parents he is also survived by sister Nicole (Dominic) Reto, of Poland, Ohio; brother Gregory Hoaja, of Centerville; and grandmother Olympia Hoaja, of Columbus, Ohio. Nicholas will be missed by his loving family and friends. His infectious smile, sense of humor, and incredible drive were evident to all who knew him. He was adept in the culinary arts and was a degreed chef, but his interests in home remodeling drew him elsewhere. He worked with his Dad and was branching off on his own, as Nicholas E. Hoaja Custom Remodeling. He left his mark on many homes with his father, as well as on his own, in several states, most recently New Hampshire. He spent considerable time in local gyms, being well versed in nutrition and bodybuilding/fitness. Nicholas was ever positive and always had time for everyone, including the homeless. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. His care and patience for the underdog had no limit. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and everyone he talked with got to hear about his beloved Yankees. He is undoubtedly already chatting with Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle. He dearly loved his brother, sister, and parents above all else. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 27th in the St. George Romanian Orthodox Church in Canton, with Rev. Fr. Ionel Satnoianu officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, September 26th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM also in the Church where a Saracusta service will be held at 7:45 PM The world lost a wonderful soul and Nicholas will always be in our hearts and prayers. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Habitat for Humanity.
