George T. Beach

George T. Beach, 96, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, October 24th, at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Alliance, on August 21, 1921, a son of the late Charles and Arvilla (Wilkinson) Beach. A 1940 graduate of Timken High School. Employed as a Welder at Diebold Inc. of Canton for 42 years. After retiring in 1986, he was employed for Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home in Canton until 2009. George served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the European Theater of Operations, Persian Gulf Command. A member of the former Fairmount Park United Presbyterian Church of Canton, and the Diebold Retirees Club. Preceded in death by his wife Catherine L. "Catie" (Malloy) Beach to whom he married April 12th, 1947, died September 19th, 1996. Survived by daughter Kathy (Daniel) Tampian, of Louisville, son Tom (Mary) Beach, of Trinidad, CO; grandchildren Zachary (Becky) Beach, Catie Beach and great-grandchildren Brian and Abigale Beach. Funeral Services will be held in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home 11am, Saturday, October 28th,with Rev. Cathy Arble officiating. Burial to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
