Alva David Mayle, age 78, of Canton, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 27, 2017, while enjoying time away at his family’s cabin in WV. David was born August 27, 1938 to Alva Dallas and Lillie Mayle of Moatsville, WV. He was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School; served in the US Army; was employed and retired from Laborer’s Local 1015; member of the NRA; a member of Crystal Park Wesleyan Church, where he was a well-loved Sunday School teacher, executive board member, visitation pastor, confidant, and friend. He had recently begun teaching a Spiritual Development class to the men at New Destiny Treatment Center. David is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Connie D. (Best) Mayle; three daughters: Lori (Mark) Deitz, of Paris, OH; Lisa (Donald) Berger, of East Canton, OH; Diana (Mike) Kettlewell, of Louisville, OH; two sons: David (Rachel) Mayle, of Massillon, OH; Douglas Mayle of the home; son-in-law, Scott Heskett, of Logan, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a grandpuppy, Max; one sister: Tena Sheme, of Grafton, WV; brother-in-law, Carvel “Cobb” Faulkiner, of Philippi, WV; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, church family and friends who are left to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by an infant son, and a daughter Susan Heskett, of Logan, OH; 2 brothers: Laco and Douglas; 6 sisters: Maxine, Erma Lee, Imogene, Zeldine, Arlene, and June; and his parents: Alva Dallas and Lillie.

David will lie in repose at Crystal Park Wesleyan Church, 2300 Mahoning Road, Canton, Ohio, on Wednesday, May 31, from 5-8 p.m. for visitation. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 11:00a.m., with viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2698 Broadway Ave., Louisville, Ohio 44641.
