Tyrone Tyree Gibson
February 5, 1924 ~ July 31, 2017 (age 93) 93 Years OldTyrone Tyree Gibson, 93, of Massillon, passed away Monday, July 31st, at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Grady, AL on February 5, 1924, a son of the late Calvin and Corabelle (Bryant) Gibson, also proceeded in death by his 1st wife Barbara (Truman) Gibson, infant son Truman Bernard Gibson, 7 brothers, and 1 sister. Tyrone was employed many years ago at Republic Steel of Massillon, and for the General Motors Corporation of Detroit, MI as an assembler, an amateur boxer, and a stand-in entertainer doing tap dancing, mimicking and played the harmonica, a staff Sgt. in the US Army as a cook during WWII all before retiring in 1984. He was baptized in 1961 and was an active member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He is survived by his wife, Dixie Leah (Lint) Gibson married November 2, 1981; 2 sons Vincent Gibson, of Massillon; Clayton (Lina) Gibson, of Pinole, CA; 2 step daughters Debra (Tom) Schwan, of Mansfield, Sue Resor, of Canton; Step Son Jimmy Kinsey, of Fernandina Beach, FL; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 1PM on Friday, August 4th in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Massillon, 2177 Nave Rd SE Massillon, Ohio 44646.
