Shirley Breit, 87, of Alliance, left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 15th. Daughter of the late John and Martha Seifert, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny (Eleanor) Seifert, Kenny Seifert, and sister, Lois Royer. Shirley graduated from Marlboro High School, Kent State University, and became a teacher at Alliance City Schools for 20 years where she was a Jennings Scholar. She was a compassionate, enthusiastic teacher and was loved by all of her students. Bill and Shirley are long-time members of the Chapel in Marlboro.

Shirley was a selfless individual who loved family, children and animals and loved spending time with her grandkids camping, fishing, going to McKinley’s monument, and playing Old Maid, which she never won. Shirley and Bill enjoyed watching all sports, especially the OSU Buckeyes. During their nearly 30 years of wintering in Florida, they participated in many sports and other activities together.

She is survived by her husband Bill Breit of 68 years who was her high school sweetheart and the love of her life. In addition, she leaves her son, Randy (Lisa) Breit, daughters, Debbie (Thom) Brough, Judy (Virgil) Villers, grandchildren, Jason, Sarah, Annie, Tessa, Savanna, Tiffany and 8 great-grandchildren. Shirley is survived by brother, Jerry (Jan) Seifert, sister, Joanne (Lou) Gibbs, sister-in-law, Judy Seifert, and brother-in-law, Elmer (Marita) Royer.

Memorial Services will be held at 4 pm, Tuesday, November 21st at the Chapel in Marlboro at 8700 Edison St. NE Louisville, OH 44641 with Rev. Joel Cochran officiating.
