Patricia A. Galida, 71, of Uniontown, passed away Friday, February 3rd, at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Youngstown on February 10, 1945, a daughter of the late Michael and Ann (Repasky) Vargo. A member of St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral of Canton and its sf. Maria’s Ladies Auxiliary of the church and former member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church of Campbell. Patricia graduated from Ursuline High School in Youngstown and received her teaching degree in Latin and English from Youngstown University in 1967. Her career started teaching Latin in the Tallmadge School system for a year, moving to Wilmington, NC, teaching English and Latin for 15 years and for the last 20 years teaching Latin in the Lake Local School System, retiring in 2005. Survived by her husband William Galida married July 23, 1967; daughter Catherine (Thomas Meek) Galida, of Morganton, NC; son Edward (Lori) Galida, of Butler, OH. ; 3 grandchildren Andrew and Allison Galida, and Seren Meek. Funeral services will be held at St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral, at 10AM on Wednesday, February 8th, with Very Rev. Fr. Ovidiu Marginean officiating.  Friends may call Tuesday, February 7 from 6-8pm where a Saracusta Service will be held at 7:30pm also in the St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral. Burial will be held on Friday, February 10th at 1pm in St. Michael Cemetery, Campbell, OH. The family requests memorial tributes be made to St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral.
