Handy B. Wolf

Handy Benjoel Wolf passed away on Monday. January 21st, 2013. Born in North Canton on July 1st, 1924, he was a 1941 graduate of "NoCaHi" (currently North Canton Hoover High School). Received his undergraduate degree at Muskingum College, and his Masters degree from Kent State University.

Member and past president of North Canton Rotary Club International, Past Master and lifelong member of the Masonic Blue Lodge and Tadmor Shrine, D.A.V. and The American Legion.

As a Disabled American Veteran (Blackhawk Infantry Division - European Theater) in World War II, he received the "Bronze Star" and "Purple Heart" for valiant service in battle.

Longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Canton. Entered his chosen profession as a teacher and coach at Dresden and New Concord, Ohio High Schools, finishing his caring career in education as a teacher and Principal in Plain Local Schools, at Glenwood, Oakwood and Glenoak High Schools, and an inductee into the "Plain Local Hall of Distinction".

Handy was a fun loving person, active in the community, enjoyed people, traveling, spending time with his beloved wife and family and in his later years, enjoyed golfing.

His favorite charity was The Salvation Army.

Survived by his loving and caring high school sweetheart and wife of 67 years Marillyn (Muse) Wolf; two sons Timothy (Laura) and Thomas (Lisa); four  grandchildren Drew, Trent (Val), Stacy (Brian) Artrip, Brady (Kristina) and one great grandson Joshua.

A small memorial service will be held in the Abbington Assisted Living facility in Pickerington, Ohio (9480 Blacklick-Eastern Rd NW  Pickerington, OH 43147 (614) 577-0822) on Friday, January 25th, 2013 with Chaplain Mark Pierce of  Hospice of Central Ohio officiating.  

Interment will be at North Lawn Cemetery in Canton later this year.
